Data Scrubber
Automatically separate safe and protected domains from your datasets
Available

Overview

The Data Scrubber tool helps you automatically identify and separate protected domains from your datasets. Upload a list of protected domains and your data file, and the tool will create separate worksheets for safe domains and protected entries.

What You Need

Protected Domains File

A CSV or Excel file containing domains you want to flag as protected

  • • First column should contain domain names
  • • One domain per row
  • • Header row optional

Data to Process

Your main dataset that needs to be scrubbed

  • • Any CSV or Excel file format
  • • Can contain many columns
  • • Tool searches all cells for matches
Supported formats: CSV (.csv), Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm)

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Upload Protected Domains File

Click the file input under "Protected Domains" and select your hands-off domain list. This file should contain domains you want to flag and separate from your main data.

Example protected domains file:

domain.com
restricted-site.net
protected-domain.org
2

Upload Data to Process

Upload your main dataset under "Data to Process". This can be any spreadsheet containing data that might include the protected domains from step 1.

The tool will search:

  • • All columns and rows in your data
  • • Partial matches within cells
  • • Case-insensitive matching
3

Start Processing

Click "Start Processing" to begin the analysis. The tool will:

  • • Compare each row against your protected domains list
  • • Separate matching rows into "Protected Domains" worksheet
  • • Place clean rows into "Safe Domains" worksheet
4

Download Results

Once processing is complete, you'll see a summary showing the number of safe and protected domains found. Click "Download Results" to get your processed Excel file. The output file will be named after your original data file with the scrub date appended — for example, Nurse Managers CA_03.05.26.xlsx.

Output file contains:

Safe Domains - Clean data ready for use
Protected Domains - Flagged entries

Additional Features

Reset

Clear all uploaded files and results to start fresh with new data.

File Management

Remove individual files before processing or view file details and sizes.

Tips & Best Practices

Tip: Keep your protected domains list clean and specific. The tool performs partial matching, so "example" will match "example.com", "test-example.net", etc.
Important: Always review the results before using the safe domains list. The tool is designed to be conservative and may flag legitimate domains if they contain protected keywords.
Keyword Finder
Find and highlight keywords in your Excel files
Coming Soon

Documentation for the Keyword Finder tool will be available when the feature launches. This tool will help you upload Excel files, enter keywords, and choose how to process them - either highlight matching rows or extract them into separate worksheets.
